Bring lots of balls when you visit this well kept, lovely 9 hole course built around the Qu/Appelle valley. There is also space to camp. Many people have cottages here.
The first hole, at only 133 yards, a par 3 straight away is probably the easiest hole to get a birdie. You begin to become aware of the ictreasing difficulty of the course shortly after wards.
The most difficult thing about the par 4 250 yard 2nd hole is to not to overshoot the green on your second shot and go out of bounds or leave yourself with a tricky chip, of course you can also go out of bounds on your first by jumping the fence on the left.
Your biggest problem at the par 3 205 yard 3rd hole is not to over shoot it, nothing hazardous about this one
If you can clear the bushes in front of the par 3 4th green 180 yards away you can par this hole or even have a chance for a birdie. If you try, and come up short you may get a chance to par with a high pitching shot over those same bushes. The safe route is to stay right and pitch on and hope for and up and down.
The uphill 5th is called cardiac hill for good reason, not only because of the steep climb, this is where any defects in your game start to show up. With the green only 200 yards away at the top of the valley, you need a very good shot to get on in regulation, pull it to the right and you may never find you ball again in a steep sloped valley
The 499 yard par 4 6th is deceptively simple, straight ahead and you'll be okay, a little left of right and you'll be out of bound in a farmers field or down that ball eating valley. There is quite a variety of wild flowers that you may enjoy while hopefully searching for your ball in the rough at the edge of the valley.
The 7th 289 par 4 hole isn't all that difficult if you dont have a wind to contend with and and you don't put one or two over the fence on your left. This hole gives you a chance to relax a bit before coming to the 8th.
The 411 yard par 5 8th hole tempts a shot across a dogleg right across a ravine that eats balls, wisdom dictates a long drive straight ahead followed by another to put yourself on the green, but even here you have to be careful not to go too far right, that valley can still wreck you're score.
The 9th hole is perched high above the green 138 yards away. If you get a nice straight shot away and the winds aren't too bad you can win the match on this hole if your competitors are left right or short and land in the chokecherry bushes, creek or long grass.
Go and grub up at the grill, you'll need the nourishment if you took shanks pony you probably doubled that searching for your companions lost balls. The scenery and
ambience of the course is more than worth it.
